Makeup & Face Mask Tips

Wearing a face mask has become the new norm. Some say makeup and masks just don’t mix but that is not true! All you need to do is follow these tips below on how to create long lasting makeup, to minimise the transfer. I would also advise to use throwaway masks, rather than fabric ones, which means less transfer and I find them to be more breathable.

Do not forget, I am offering a FREE face mask with every order, no minimum spend.

Wearing a mask makes me hyperventilate the minute I put it on and  when I take it off I lose half my foundation and my face is printed on the Inside of mask 😷. Much like our blog story ‘Don’t lose face’😂😂 So I have trawled the net to find out how to avoid losing face when wearing makeup and a mask.

Follow these tips for long lasting makeup and minimise the transfer regardless.

1.USE A PRIMER

One of the main reasons for makeup transfer into a mask are the natural oils that are released from the skin while being covered, they release and mix with the air from your breath causing an unhealthy mixture. So using a balanced primer, will help to avoid build up and of oil and essentially steam from your breath.

2. KEEP IT MATTE

Applying a powder over your skin will avoid the extra oil build up. Liquid foundation is a moisture so switching to powder can help to matte the skin and keep a natural glow/base.

3.LOCK YOUR LIPS IN

You don’t have to loose your SOS vibe tint to your mask, save it. Be sure to use the SOS lip scrub regularly for a smooth canvas. Apply a light coat of the tint then....

4.SET IT

Once finished use a setting spray, again one that keeps your skin balanced from oils , spray some lightly over lips for lasting coverage

5.FOCUS ON YOUR EYES & BROWS

If you decide not to use your foundation at all and want to go for a more fresh look, then focus on the eyes and brows.

Try out our lash and eyebrow serum, eyelashes and loose powder pigments for added effect. Create interesting shapes with pigments, which can be used as eyeliner and even blush.

6.MAKE SHAPES

Eyeshadows can be used in amazing ways, you don’t have to sweep it over the lid, it can be made in shapes to accentuate the eye- try lines and triangles for amazing attraction to the feature we should be making the best of right now.

7.TURN TO CONCEALER

Another face makeup product you shouldn’t skip? Concealer! While you may not be wearing it in a traditional manner (with half of your face being covered, there’s less need for extra coverage), you can use concealer in a color that’s one to two shades lighter than your skin tone to draw attention to your eyes.

8.HIGHLIGHT

Highlighters are amazing at well highlighting. It can be used in so many different ways, this radiant makeup product isn’t just for your cheekbones. I always opt for dabbing a little of highlighter in the corner of my eyes because it just makes my face so much brighter and accentuates the colour and shape of of my eyes. We sell an 80ml recyclable wax lined pot of highlighter here

9.LOVE THE SKIN YOU ARE IN

Now more than ever you should be ensuring your skin is on fleek (do people say that anymore?) make sure you relax and face roll to smooth out skin and use carrived oils for baby soft skin.

10. TAKE IT OFF

Whilst you rip off the face mask when you get home or even in the car. DO NOT FORGET TO CLEANSE. Mask or no mask cleansing should be a part of everyone’s routine. You can use carrier oils as a cleanser if you don’t like the alcohol laden ones on the market which can dry out your face. Carrier oils remove your makeup gently and don’t leave your skin oily. I have oily skin and use carrier oils it has balanced my skin out and made my skin so soft!

So there you have it! Makeup and Masks do mix you just needed me to tell you how.

Thanks for reading love you all!
